科学が作る未来社会
人工知能とロボットが活躍する社会
2014年現在の日本の人口は１億2,700万人と計算されています。
それが2060年には8,674万人になると予想されています。
これは、日本にとって大変な問題です。
しかし、今後、人間の代わりとなる人工知能付きロボットが開発されれば
解決できる課題もたくさんあります。
人口減少で困る仕事は危険な仕事や、人手の必要な仕事などです。
例えば、病気や体の不自由な人たちには、優しい看護師さんや介護士さんが必要です。
でも人工知能付きロボットが入浴や食事のお世話などの支援ができるようになれば
人手は少なくて済みます。
安全な自動運転車ができれば、運転する人がいらなくなり、事故も少なくなります。
消防や救助など危険な現場では、ロボットを使って警察官や消防士さんたちが安全に
働けます。
建築や道路工事の現場でも、建設機械のロボット化が進めば
必要な人数も少なくなり危険もなくなります。
もちろん人工知能も人間に勝てない分野もたくさんあると思います。
でもそれはお互いが得意な分野を担当して協力すればよいのです。
人間が得意なことは、今までなかったような便利で安全な社会を
考え出すことです。
そしてその考えにもとづいて計画を作ることです。
人間が立派な計画を作れば、それを実行するのはロボットの得意分野です。
ロボットは人間の何倍・何十倍の働きをしてくれると思います。
つまり将来の人口減少を補うことができるのです。
人工知能付きロボットは私たちの未来社会を力強くサポートしてくれるでしょう。
私は大人になったら、そのような未来社会を作るお手伝いをしたいと思っています。

A Future built by science.
A society where Artificial Intelligence and Robots abound.
Currently Japan’s population is calculated at 127 million people, but by the year 2060 that number is predicted to drop to 86 million 740 thousand people.
This will create many problems for our country, but with the development of robots equipped with artificial intelligence, many of these problems can be solved.
Jobs that will prove difficult due to population decrease are jobs which involve danger, jobs in which human hands are necessary.
For example, people with illnesses or disabilities need the kind care of nurses and care-givers; but if robots with AI can be developed to provide assistance in feeding and bathing, the need for human hands could be relieved.
If safe self-driving cars can be developed, there will be less need for human drivers and less accidents.
On dangerous sites, police and fire fighters could use robots and thus be able to work much more safely.
As construction related machinery becomes more robotized, construction work and roadwork will be able to be conducted more safely, and with less need for human workers.
Of course there will be some areas where machines will not be able to succeed people; but if people and machines can work cooperatively many problems could be solved.
One of mankind’s greatest abilities is to think of new, more safe and convenient ways to improve society, and then to incorporate those ideas into planning.
Robots could excel at making man’s plans into realities. I think robots can do many times the work of humans; that is to say that robots could make up for the lack of population.
Robots equipped with artificial intelligence will be able to actively support our future society.
When I grow up, I want to participate in creating that kind of future.
